Our client approached us with several specific programmatic requirements: 1) create a covered exterior space for a new hot tub that would allow for year-round use, 2) maximize sunlight, 3) seamlessly integrate into the existing architecture so as to not look like an “add-on,” and finally 4) be an interesting and fun architectural form.

Teaming up with Forever Redwood, True Bearing Built created the initial design and 3D model based on the existing conditions. The tolerances were tight, and the structure had to line up exactly with the existing patio and roof edge. The planning and construction took several months, while the install was completed by True Bearing Built in just 2 days.

The result is an architecturally satisfying structure that completely transformed the otherwise ordinary patio into a dynamic and functional exterior space.
